I have a complete version of windows 98 and my windows 95
system will not let me update to 98. It says that this is
the wrong version and that I have to obtain a windows 98
update. Is their a way around this or do I need the update
to 98? If i need the update, where can I get it because I
can't find it on Micosoft.com.

in the windows folder you need to rename the file win.com
then boot with a cd support floppy and install win98
you will need to be sure to install it in the original
(probably) C:\windows folder
the installer may default to c:\windows.000
btw: if it;s an older machine be sure it has enough RAM
64 -128 megs is good 256 megs excellent
but don;t even think of it if the machine has less than 32megs of ram

installed then you can put the full version of 98 thats
the way microsoft made it you will not find it on
microsoft .com you have to buy the disk yourself
