Help! After installing the win 95 upgrade to a computer
prevously running on Win 3.1, at the first start up the
message apears, running Wind 95 for first time, then a
disc error message, then the system keeps repeating the
error message if a key is pressed(no discs are in
computer). Any suggestions on how to get past this and run
the computer using win 95 or going back to 3.1?

Please provide us with the exact error message.   If you are receiving a
non-system disk error, please see the following articles

"Non-System Disk Error" with LBA Hard Disk Controller WGID:162
ID: 156554.KB.EN-US

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;156554

812492.KB.EN-US Error Message When You Start Your Computer with a
Non-System Disk

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;812492

If you put a Windows boot disk into the drive are you able to boot?    If
not, check the BIOS settings.
