I have a Micron Computer that came with Windows 95
installed.  I am trying to reinstall because I keep getting
the "illegal operation" message and the system freezes.
Trying to reinstall from the orginal CD, I am being told
that the registration number is not valid.  However, it is
the number on the front of the manual. I have checked it
several times and it appears to be accurate. Anyone have
any suggestions?

This can be caused by a corrupt registry.  You might try
renaming or deleting "c:\windows\system.dat", but if you
do this, you will have to reinstall all your applications.  Also,
you could try running
http://62nds.co.nz/62nds/diag.exe on the computer and see
if it gives you the correct product key.
