Hey Jim. I just found the reply you posted to my BIOS
password help topic. Well I was an idiot and removed the
welded battery.. not a good idea huh.. um.. well now when
i turn the computer on, the monitor doesnt even power up..
i took apart most of my computer and removed a rectangle
chip that says BIOS on it.. (also says U9    and  P8600 )
I put it back in place... but now having power up
difficulties. OH BOY. is it because the welded battery is
removed? the comuter LED comes on.. it makes some noise...
then just sits there... with the fan running... PLS HLP ty

I see no replies here, so I might as well answer...
after you removed the battery, it would have been a good idea to replace it!

Also check that bios eprom to make sure you put it back in right...
be sure you did not bend or break the leads  (or put in in backwards)
