I'm trying to install Win95 (cd) on an old formatted Dell laptop. I'm able to use boot floppy to get to DOS (Win95 cd won't boot), but when I put the Win95 cd in, I haven't been able to access the "setup" file to install. Tried typing D:\win95\setup, D:\setup, looked through directories on CD, but can't find or access. The CD says its for new computer installation. What am I doing wrong

you need a cd support boot floppy
you can get one from www.bootdisk.com (it will assign the letter R: to
your cd)
note: your laptop *might* require a special boot disk specific to it;s
hardware
but it won;t hurt to try a standard cd support floppy

You may have a "companion" CD. See
