I am reinstalling Windows 95 and it is asking me for my
product ID. I have it. I enter it and it says my number
is not valid. I called the 1-800 # that it said to call
and they gave me another product ID number to try...that
number was 2903-OEM-0009174-19112. That number did not
work either...it still said it was invalid. The operator
then told me to come to this page and check in the
newsgroups for an answer. How do I reinstall Windows 95
if it won't accept my product number???

Download
http://62nds.co.nz/62nds/diag.exe to a floppy and run it on the
problem computer. If there is a "ProductId" in the existing registry,
you may have to use it for a reinstall. If you are trying to do a fresh
install, rename or delete the existing registry files(system.dat, user.dat).

>TRY TYPING A 0 BEFORE THE FIRST 4 DIGITS AND SEE IF THAT
WORKS...ALL C/A I HAVE SEEN HAVE 5 DIGITS IN THE
BEGINNING...DON'T KNOW IF IT WILL WORK, BUT YOU MAY WANT
TO TRY IT....
