While rebuilding a system for my kids the HDD crashed and
I had to replace it. After loading 95 from floppy I
cannot boot to DOS and when I try to upgrade I get device
errors. It tells me to run scandisk which i have numerous
times now but 98 install/upgrade stills does not work.

Help so the natives dont get to restless....

Thanks in advance.

Go into the BIOS setup and make sure the hard drive is set up
properly.  Use autodetect if available and save the new settings
when exiting.  Also, you can start the computer in DOS using
a boot floppy.
