I have Installed windows 95 but when ever i try to start
up the computer comes up with "windows protection error.
pleas restart your computer" it will start fine in safe
mode but none of the patches do anything to fix this
problem. I think my processer is to fast for it (it is an
amd k6 processer) i have tried the amd k6 patch for
windows 95 but it keeps comming up with wrong version of
windows. I have windows 95 4.00.950a any help will be
much appreciated

Download
http://download.microsoft.com/download/win95upg/patch/1.2/w95/en-us/amdk6upd.exe
Open the file with WinZip and extract "esdi_506.pdr" and
"scsiport.pdr" to a floppy.  Start the problem computer in
DOS, insert the floppy and type the following two lines.
Then type "win" to start Windows.

copy  /y  a:\esdi_506.pdr  c:\windows\system\iosubsys
copy  /y  a:\scsiport.pdr  c:\windows\system\iosubsys
