brought home PC from work to tele-communicate to work.
Game was on pc which I removed but when I did it took some
files with it:
1. Could not load or run 'Speedy.bat'specified in the
win.ini file. Make sure the file exists on your
computer or remove the reference to it in the win.ini
file.
2. Could not load or run 'speedy.pif' specified in the
win.ini file. Make sure the file exists on your
computer or remove the reference to it in the
win.ini.file.
3. A required .dll file, .dll file WS2_32dll was not
found.
4. Could not load or run alevir.exe specified in the
win.ini file. Make sure the file exists on your
computer or remove the reference to it int he win.ini
file.
Since I do not want to lose work connection programs
installed from work is there a way to go back to a June
date to restore the windows 95?
I phoned Compaq and they said to take the pc to Radio
Shack when I explained the problem to them they said bring
it in and they would ship it someplace else. I don't have
that kind of time and am hoping I can restore to a June
date today.
Thanks

You can only restore to a June date if you took a backup of the system at
that time.
If you can boot to safe mode then you can edit WIN.INI to remove the
references to these files. Do Start / Run / Sysedit, select WIN.INI and
remove the filenames wherever you find them. Otherwise, boot to DOS and use
EDIT to edit the file (C:\Windows\WIN.INI).
WS2_32.DLL can be reinstalled by re-installing the Sockets 2 update from the
Microsoft site, or simply by downloading from a www site such as:

Go to CompUSA. I also have compaq and they service all.
There is another place called PCWorld slightly less
expensive, but Comp USA new what they were doing and saved
my old files. Although I had to give them my old windows
95 CD rom and I lost bunch of programs at least I have
thos Presarioo back and running better then before. Jack
