but how do I get it back in programs or what ever to
retall it...says shortcut to Outlook express install
Jeff Richards - 18 Jan 2004 21:34 GMT
If you are following intructions that someone has already provided, then you
need to repond to their message so that they see the response and know what
you are referring to.

If this is a new problem, then way more information is required.

Try double-clicking it.  If that doesn't work, click "Start",
"Run", type or paste

RUNDLL32  SETUPWBV,IE5Maintenance

into the "Open" box and click "OK".  Then select
"Add a component" and click "OK".  When Internet Explorer
setup starts, find and check the "Outlook Express" box and
click "Next".

Click "Start", then "Run", then carefully type the following line into the
"Open" box and click "OK".

RUNDLL32  SETUPWBV,IE5Maintenance

If the "Internet Explorer and Internet Tools" box opens, select "Add a
component" and click "OK".  When Internet Explorer setup starts,
use the scroll bar to find "Outlook Express".  Check the box next to
it, then click "Next".  If you are given a choice between "Exit" and
"Reinstall", select "Reinstall".

Delete the current contents of the text box labelled Open then type in the
command to be executed and click OK.

The command that was recommended was

RUNDLL32  SETUPWBV,IE5Maintenance

I would recommend using copy and paste to ensure that the corect line is
entered.  You do not need to be on line.  After entering the line and
clicking OK, check to see if the original problem still exists.

If the message box has a "Details" button, click it, find out
what file it needs and repost with the file name.  Also, see
if you already have the file on the computer.

Use a comma between "SETUPWBV" and "IE5Maintenance".

RUNDLL32  SETUPWBV,IE5Maintenance
