Hello,
I just recently purchased an old P96 (I think) from
someone, and he had freshly loaded it with Win NT.  Now
it's not running very quickly, so I thought maybe Win95
might be a better option.  Can I just install Win95 over
WinNT?  Can anyone foresee any problems with me doing
this?  Thanks.

Windows NT can use NTFS as its file system, which Windows 9x can't see, so
one potential problem is that you may need to remove the existing partitions
and start over with FAT or FAT32 partitions.  If you were to download some
disk diagnostic software from the hard disk drive manufacturer's www site,
which I would strongly recommend anyway when you don't know whether or not
there might be a problem with the hard drive, then it should include an
option to clear the drive so that you can start fresh with the W95 FDISK to
create new partitioning.

Are you sure it isn't a P76?

It's actually a P90.

I have one more question: should I be expecting my
computer to be running FASTER with win95 (rather than
WinNT 4.0?).

The computer runs at the same speed for both operating systems - 90MHz in
your case.
