a few days before new years, the computer was fine, but
after then the computer does not turn on completely. The
computer runs and completes the post and once it gets to
the WIN 95 splash screen it seems to freeze. After about
10 mins. or so of the screen, then brings up in dos that
it was unable to continue and shows 3 entries 1 about
blaster 2 about something 3 about error unable to read c:/
I cannot think of anything to do than to reinstall the
OS, and i do not have the reinstallation disk.. i'm
guessing that one of the c:/ files are corrupted or
somehing dont know what else to do

If the startup procedure cannot read form drive C then re-installing won't
help. You need to find and fix the disk read error. Get some hard disk
drive diagnostics from the www site of your hard disk drive manufacturer and
use them to identify the problem. Once you know exactly why you are getting
the disk read error you can work out the best way to deal with it, for
instance by replacing the hard disk drive.
