I'm trying to run W95 on a P4. I already edited system.ini
to fix the "insufficient memory to initialize windows".
But now I get a Windows protection error on IOS.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks

This issue can be caused by a corrupted .cab file that has been copied to
the hard disk. This corruption can be caused by a virus or by failing
hardware, but is most likely to be caused by a scratched, dirty, or damaged
CD-ROM.

Thanks Jim,
as I just installed win 95 after having formatted my HD,
do you think the problem is the W95 installation CD Rom or
something else? I did not well understand...
If it's not dirt (I can't check at the moment), what
should I do to fix it?
Thanks again

If Windows is working fine, ignore it. If not, then now is the time to catch
it.
I'd recommend copying the Win 95 CD to the hard drive. In the case of
border-line readability, this allows Windows to use little retry tricks to
get the best copy of the files. It is somewhat more likely, in a slightly
damaged Cd, that an outright copy will come up "clean" than that an
execution (install) off the CD will come up clean -- so you can then redo
the install (if that's what you choose) by booting to the hard drive in DOS
(or with a floppy if you prefer) and running SETUP off the hard drive.
