installing windows 95

I had to format a friends pc, he has the start up disk and
95 cd with product key. i formatted it, I thought it would
work like w/98 but i am not sure how to install 95, it is
not the same.I put the floppy in, when it starts a:> comes
up. when I start it and hit f8 I get my options but i do
not know what else to do..please help

Create a startup disk using one of the programs from
www.bootdisk.com.  This will include a generic driver for cd-rom
drives.  If it works, it will assign drive letter r: to your
friend's cd-rom drive.  Put the cd in and from the a: prompt
type:  r:\setup [enter]

The Windows 95 start up disks do not include any cd-rom drivers.
If your friend has a non-generic cd-rom drive you will need the
drivers for his cd-rom drive and, possibly, the drivers for his
sound card.
