philo i told u i was stuck..i just read merlins request
again and i dont want to upgrade from dos unless that is
the only way, again sorry for being difficult michelle
MY PROBLEM = wanting to upgrade to win98 ,have win98 sec.
ed. but says i need to 'upload win98'because i already
have a operating system. thanks

I guess I missed the original question

i presume you are trying to upgrade to win98 from win95
but you have an OEM full version of windows cd

what you need to do...
in the windows folder....rename the file win.com

then reboot and use a cd support floppy or boot from the cd

you should now be able to install windows as an upgrade

Caution! the installer may ask if you want to install in C:\windows.000

at this point you need to select other directory and
reinstall back in your original windows folder... usually C:\windows
