When I try to run defrag on Windows 95, I get the
message "Windows cannot defragment this drive because it
contains errors that must be repaired" and then advises
running ScanDisk.
When I run ScanDisk, I get the message "ScanDisk was
unable to finish correcting this error because it could
not create a file".
Um? Anyone got a suggestion?

Boot to a DOS system prompt. Run Scandisk from the command line.
