I have a laptop and it has removable drives 3.5 and cd rom
I wiped harddrive clean, I am having problems loading
windows 95. I have a boot disk and cd, when I run
installation 3.5 disk everything is ok but I get a message
installation aborted because it can;t read my cd rom.
because I have to take my 3.5 drive out first and then
put my cd rom drive in. Can anybody help me solve this
solution

Get a bootdisk at www.bootdisk.com. This will include CD-ROM support, but of
course it will fail when loaded from floppy.  FDisk, Format and SYS your C
drive. Copy everything from the floppy to hard drive.  Edit the hard drive
copies of CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT so that every reference to A: is
changed to C:.  Shut down, replace the floppy with the CD, boot to the hard
drive and you CD will be accessible.

Be sure to edit CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT after the installation, or you
will be forever booting with real-mode DOS drivers for the CD (and a lot of
other junk that Windows doesn't need).

Make sure the hard drive in the laptop is bootable, then download
http://207.193.143.215/derek_stuff/My%20downloads/Boot%20Disks/cdindos.exe
and use it to create an installation floppy.  Start the laptop
in DOS, then insert the floppy, type "a:\install" and press "Enter".
After the installation is complete, shut down, remove the
floppy drive, install the CD drive and restart.
