Hello everyone.
Giving an old computer to the kids so they can play
games.  Using MAXBLAST, I formatted, partitioned, and
copied system files using a boot-up disk from
www.bootdisk.com (I needed MSCDEX for CD-ROM drive
support).  From the "95B 4.00.950 B" CD disc, I tried to
install Win95.  It SCANDISKs, after which it returns on a
black screen with the message "Error loading GDI.EXE".  In
an effort to copy GDI.EXE (Graphics Device Interface) from
my computer onto the problem computer, I did a QUICK VIEW
and noticed a lot of addresses. I did not want to take the
chance.
Viewing other similar postings here, I tried: (1)
Added to  MSDOS.SYS: BootGUI=1; (2) copied from Win95 on
CD disc: d:\WIN95\*.* to the problem computer harddrive
after making directories: C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS; (3)
checked BOOTLOG.TXT for any errors regarding graphics
display devices.  Only the CDROM and HIMEM.SYS devices
were referenced and they both loaded successfully.
Thank you for your time and assistance....Phil

I'm unclear - are you booting from the hard drive, or from a floppy, when
you run the CD?
