Assuming you have a non-upgrade cd-rom version of Windows 95 (and
a
generic cd-rom reader):
i. Use one of the programs from www.bootdisk.com to create a
Windows 95
startup floppy.
ii. Start the computer from your newly created startup floppy.
Then put
the cd in the reader.
iii. type: format c: /b /u [enter]
iv. Answer the first question in the affirmative. When it
finishes it will
as for a label, up to 8 letters/numbers can be used.
v. type: c: [enter]
vi. type md windows [enter]
vii. type [F3]\options [enter]
viii. type [F3]\cabs [enter]
ix. type c[F3] [enter]
x. type copy r:\win95\*.* [enter]
xii. {after x finishes} remove the cd.
xiii. type setup [enter]
It will ask for the Product Key/Code. This is normally found on
a sticker
on the cd case or the certificate on the Windows 95 manual.

Go into the BIOS setup and disable the boot virus protection.
