When I turned on my laptop I received a message that file
"VMM32.VXD" was missing and that I may have to re-install
windows 95. When I tried to use the setup disks I was asked
to supply the Product ID # from the Certificate of
Authenticity.
When I entered this number the program would not accept it.
I entered all the dashes needed. I called MicroSoft and
they gave me three new PI#s but none of them worked. I
tried no dashes, dashes and leaving spaces where the dashes
should have been. I tried caps on the OEM to no avail.
Microsoft will not offer any further help.
Any ideas?

it's been a while since i;ve installed win95

but IIRC  you have   numbers such as XXXXX-OEM-XXXXXXX-XXXXX

when you enter the numbers your option is to enter *only* the numbers...
there is no room for spaces, dashes or the letters "OEM"

Depending on the version, it could be xxx-OEM-xxxxxxx, but either
way only the numbers are entered into the blanks.
