Never mind the previous question......
Have no idea why they have the individual disks (14?) ..... Still would like the answer to that.....
BUT, all I seemed to need was the "setup"...... computer is now at Windows95a so can continue with all the rest of the updates.
Next question - new thread.....
First of probably many questions?
Starting over on a P120 computer. I flashed (updated) the BIOS and then formatted using overlay software to access a newer larger hard drive. (8+gig - original was 1.2 or something).
Have the Original Win95 cd and have installed windows and installed newer video drivers, updated drivers for different modem and faster CDrom drive. (These were all installed years ago but had to reformat anyway - it was a mess - so decided to flash the BIOS beforehand).
Next Step ........ I want to first update to Win95a. (updates 1-10) Here I am confused. I found the SP1 setup.exe file on Microsoft site. However, is this the whole update? or just the setup and then updated from online? (That computer is NOT currently connected and I am trying to make a CD with ALL the updates in case I need to start over at some time). I see referrals to the CD and see that it could be ordered,(maybe not anymore?) however, is there someplace I can download it? I also see the place to download to individual disks - but this seems to be for administrators and is confusing how they are to be used. All the readme files say to use the CD for updating to an individual computer.
TIA

to install it but I do not have the 20 diget code that

I got mine off the book...... but think I saw instructions in here somewhere for "making one up". Sum had to be divisible by a certain number. Not sure what the thread was called - but try doing some back reading and you may find it before I do.....
(it may have been on the win95.general.discussion group on this same server)

Here is a copy of that thread: (just a couple of days ago and have seen it several times)
From: "madmax" <maxpro4u@zyxneo.rr.com>
>>Make one up! the method is that when you add up all the digits in the

As an eaxample
17177-oem-1616167-16167
The number after oem has to be divisible by seven after addingup all
digits.
1+6+1+6+1+6+7 = 28 which is 4*7 !!
