I see there are many updates to Win95 and have downloaded most of them......

I plan on updating to IEsp5.5, however, although I can find the order for other updates, I have no idea when I should do this one?  Should I do any interim update to IE or is it ok to go directly to 5.5? and when?  My current IE is just from original Win95, which lists as version 4.40.308.  I know that this is NOT IE4 though, correct?  I have also downloaded IE4full, and the dates of the files are 1998, so could not be the same one?  At one time, I had a link to show the version #'s for the different IE's, but can't find it now.  Why do they have to make it so complicated?  <G>

TIA

You can get the full version of Internet Explorer 5.5 service pack 2, the
latest Internet Explorer for Windows 95 for $3.00 on a CD at
http://on-disk.com/ie55sp2.html

I had tried the evolt.org download but it wouldn't install for me. Several
people in the groups seem to have had similar issues. I followed the
advice of a Microsoft guru and tried the on-disk CD and it worked
flawlessly.

They also have a new option called "on-pack" that also contains Internet
Explorer 5.5 SP2 along with DirectX 8.0a, Windows media player 7.1,
Windows 95 Y2K Update, Windows 95 OEM SR2 Update, OpenOffice.org legacy
build for Windows 95, Trillian 0.74, ExtractNow.

Thanks for the answer, however, I have already downloaded so will try that first.....  don't really want to wait. (but will use that if it doesn't work.)  I've seen that CD mentioned in here before.  The question was, however,
WHEN do I install it in regards to all the other updates?  and should I do an interim install of IE4? or doesn't it matter?  Don't want to overwrite files that should be left alone etc.
