i have an old computer with no operating system. I have
win95 ready to install however when the cd rom is
inserted the computer doesn't recognise it. there is no
promt to enter set up. Its an omnibook4150 and when
turned on it asks to press f2 to enter setup. this takes
me to the computers specifications. any ideas?

Before doing anything you need to get rid of the startup message. You may
need to set machine configuration and save the settings. If the settings
can't be saved then perhaps the motherboard battery is flat and needs to be
replaced.

The machine manufacturer may have specific instructions for configuring the
machine settings and for booting.

If you have CD writing hardware/software you may be able to make a bootable
CD from the bootdisk you got at that site. There's a link about halfway down
the page.  Otherwise, you could try booting to any bootable CD (the W95 CD
probably isn't bootable) and once you have DOS up and running you can insert
the W95 CD and copy the setup folder from CD to hard disk.  Then make the
hard disk bootable, and boot to it to run the setup program.

Is the machine attempting to boot from the CD?  If so, the message indicates
that the CD was not created correctly.  Which procedure did you use to
create it?  Does it work on a different machine?

Have you eliminated the message about pressing F2 to access setup?
