Extract fresh copies of the "ifsmgr.vxd" and "ios.vxd"
files from your Windows 95 CD to the
"c:\windows\system\vmm32" directory. You can create
a boot floppy with CD drivers at
http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm

For the "ios.vxd" file, download
http://download.microsoft.com/download/win95upg/patch/1.2/w95/en-us/amdk6upd.exe
Open the file with WinZip and extract the "ios.vxd" file to
a floppy. For the "ifsmgr.vxd" file, download
http://download.microsoft.com/download/win95/Update/6467/W95/EN-US/256015USA5.EXE
Open this file with WinZip. If you are using the original version
of Windows 95, extract "ifsmgr.95g". If you are using OSR2,
extract "ifsmgr.os2". Rename the file to "ifsmgr.vxd" and put
it on the same floppy. Then start the problem computer in
"Command Prompt", insert the floppy and copy the files to
the "c:\windows\system\vmm32" directory.
copy a:\ios.vxd c:\windows\system\vmm32
copy a:\ifsmgr.vxd c:\windows\system/vmm32
