> How do I upgrade from Windows 95 to Windows 2003?
if your machine is old enough to have win95 on it
you should not be thinking of putting windows2003 server on it!
In most cases you don't.
Windows XP takes a lot more system performance than nearly all Win95
era machines have. Even if you are able to run XP on the older system
it will probably be REAL REAL (understatement) slow.
In most cases you'll get much better performance updating the Windows
95 system. I have a 466mhz win95 system with 64MB memory that runs
about as well as our 933Mhz Windows ME computer with 128MB RAM, and
our 1.6ghz Windows XP computer with 512MB memory. If you put good
software on even an older Windows 95 computer it is capable of
accomplishing nearly any task you will need.
on-disk had a $4 CD that can help a lot. It has Internet Explorer 5.5
SP2, DirectX 8.0a, Windows media player 7.1, Windows 95 Y2K Update,
Windows 95 OEM SR2 Update (for Multifunction CardBus Cards Resolve
several Plug and Play issues with PC Cards), OpenOffice.org 1.0.3.1
(Legacy Build for Win 95), Trillian 0.74, and ExtractNow.
