My neighbor bought an old Compaq with a tiny hard drive
and Win95 already installed...the person she bought it
from did not give her the installation disk. She was
trying to free up some space and went into control
panel...add/remove...and deselected all of her Windows
setup options...now she can not reinstall them and has no
dial-up networking to connect to AOL...Her CD ROM drive
has also stopped working....I'm running 98SE so I don't
have the disks she needs. I can't even download the files
separately from the Windows website because the files are
too big for floppies..Can anyone tell me how I can get her
back up and running?

Your friend will not be able to use that machine effectively without the
Windows setup software.   It is often available on e-Bay or at the on-line
stores, or she should go back to the person she bought the machine from and
ask for the software.

Once she has the CD, go here for information about creating floppies from
it:
