Installed OEM Win95 on clean HD in 300mhz PC. Everything
appears to be have loaded OK except:
1. Only have choice of 16 or 256 color. I have downloaded
the Trident 3D image video drivers, but driver update does
not find the file. (on floppy)
2. Everytime I boot, new hardware wizard finds
soundblaster 16 card and tries to find driver, but cannot
locate it (also downloaded on same floppy), so I cancel
and continue. CD player seems to play audio CDs OK, but
going thru new hdwr dialogue box on every boot is annoying
3. Question marks next to PCI cards in system properties
box under MY computer properties. I thought it referred to
the PCTel hsp56 modem. Again, the update driver box cannot
find the driver (on the same floppy).
Any ideas what's going on?
Thanks
Mark

When you downloaded the drivers you probably downloaded a ZIP or EXE file.
You need to unpack the ZIP or execute the EXE in order to create the
separate installation files.

The update drivers option will only update the drivers for the currently
identified device. If the device was originally identified incorrectly then
you need to remove the current device drivers and install the replacement
drivers using the Have Disk option.

For some devices, you can't install using the add new hardware procedure.
These devices will be installed by running their own install program.
