My computer has been off and unplugged for 4 months and it
won't come back and it tells me I need to load a disk
,which I've lost. If you could help me out I'd appreciate
it as the kids use this for school.  Thank You.

Go into the BIOS setup and make sure the hard drive is set up
properly.  Use autodetect if available and be sure to save the
settings when exiting.  If this doesn't help, go to
http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm and create a boot
floppy.  Use it to start the problem computer, type
"sys  c:" and press "Enter".  Then remove the floppy and
restart.

Try http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm
Please note that many older computers do not automatically
detect hard drives.  When they are powered off for long periods
of time, they lose the information required to access it.  Go into
the BIOS setup and make sure the hard drive information is
correct.  Use autodetect if available and save the settings when
exiting.  If you are having problems with COM ports, just disable
them until you can boot from the hard drive.  You may have to use
BIOS default settings.
