While trying to install Win 95 floppy version on an old
computer I get a corrupted CAB file message with Disk 1-
SETUP floppy in drive A.  Is the problem on the floppy
disk?  Or somewhere else?  Can i get a download of just
this one disk somewhere if i need it?  How else can i fix
it?  Thanks

You can run ScanDisk on the floppy to get a good idea. One way: Click Start,
click Run, type:
SCANDISK A:
and click OK.

Jim, thank you for the info.  I ran the scandisk and it
said it could not fix all the errors.  I have the complete
14 disk set and the only bad disk is the #1 setup disk.
is there anyway i can replace this disk?  I also have the
win 95 cd/rom.  Can i get the old computer to boot up to
it instead?  Thanks, Rob

Though I'm not terribly optimistic with a product that has been discontinued
for several years, you should probably start with a phone call to
Microsoft's replacement parts number: 800-360-7561
