I was  put onto this a while ago from a mailing list I used to  belong
to. The site is here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/downloads/contents/common/servicepack1/svcpk1
diskset.asp?site=3D95

I've downloaded the files, and it's quite  substantial - the
equivalent of 15 floppies.

Before I install it, does anyone know which version  it upgrades to?
Microsoft's support directed me to this group, so here I am!

I run an old backup machine with Win95a, and if, say, it's an upgrade
to 95b, this would be really useful.

Thanks.

It doesn't upgrade to Win95b.
It upgrades Win95 to Win95a.
If you have Win95a already then please press Contents and read the
information and DO NOT install this.
