I keep getting the error EXPLORER caused an invalid page
fault in module SHELL32.DLL at 0177:66801af2. It occurs
when I am using explorer to navigate my computer's hard
drive. I can however use explorer's find function to
locate files.

Note also that at the same time this problem started I was
unable to use both print manager and control panel for a
period of time, however I am now able to use both

Another problem that seems to be associated with this
problem is that when I attempt to use Microsoft Office and
create a new doc under the file menu item. The Office app
will lockup. I can however, create a new doc using an
existing template for which I have a shortcut on my
desktop.

The only software installed since this problem was for the
an HP laser printer. Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks
Brian

Win95, unforunately, has very limited repair capabilities. I would
first try uninstalling anything that has been installed recently. Use
the Add/Remove module in Control Panel. Uninstall only one at a time
and restart the system after each uninstall.

I doubt that the foregoing will correct the problem, but it doesn't
hurt to try. If it does not correct the problem, then reinstall
Windows in the current folder (probably C:\Windows). The Windows Setup
program can often repair problems with Windows itself.

If that does not correct the problem, you will have to reinstall
Windows into a new empty folder. The following article explains how to
install Windows into a new folder:

How to Reinstall Windows 95 to a New Folder [142096]

Information about reinstalling is also on www.windowsreinstall.com.

This may be a problem specific to Office. I suggest that you first get
Windows working correctly, and then, if you are still having trouble
with Office, ask aboput it ion an Office newsgroup.
