Was browsing he web today and came out of Yahoo!browser
and clicked on "Explorer", from a shortcut on the desktop.
"Explorer" started to come up as usual but then a
different search engine, other than the
requested "Explorer" came up in its place. It is
called "Nova----" ( the last four letters are profanity!!
I think my host has been hijacked. this happened once
before and It was an obvious fix..I deleted the suspect
host. Now, however, I can't determine what to do to fix
this new problem. I only have the original host that came
w/the P/C. If I reloaded Internet Explorer 5.5, which is
what I have, will the problem be solved. Also, how do I
reload/reinstall IE 5.5?
Any assistance from you would be of great help. "THANKS"

Update your anti-virus app and then run a full-system virus scan.

In addition, install Ad-Aware 6 free edition, start it, click its 'Check for Updates' link in the app to install updates, then use it to scan your system, and remove what it finds.
Ad-Aware:

Download and run Hijack This, but don't remove anything with it yet:
