Not an easy thing to fix, I think you have to reinstall W95 or better yet
install W98 (better W98 for security reasons). Or take it to a store and
have them look at it.  Good luck.

someone gave me a packard bell computer it has windows 95
on it .. it will boot up  and you can seee the windows 95
screen then it disappears ans i am left with a black
screen.. the desktop doed not come up.. please tell me how
i fix this

I would be willing to bet that the video card drivers are misset.  Try
starting the computer in safe mode to see if you get anything on the screen.
If you do, we can work from there.
