Computer consistently starts up in Safe Mode in W98-SE

My computer is constantly starting up in Safe Mode, even
after verifying with the msconfig utility that this should
not be the case.  I have run sfc to insure integrity of
all system files.

I would appreciate any suggestions as to the continuation
of my quest in solving this riddle.

If you used msconfig and SFC, you are using Windows 98, and are asking in the wrong group...this is a Win95 group.
