I have windows 95 and explorer 5. I have been perfectly
happy with this until recently. The BMO website has
upgraded and I can no longer do my banking over the
internet. Microsoft does not provide an upgrade to
explorer 5.5 to resolve this problem. Do you have any
suggestions on how to rectify this problem other than
changing banking institutions.

JIm Eshelman pointed you to a download of IE5.5SP2, the newest IE that
will run on Win95. If that doesn't do the job, you can try the latest
versions of Netscape (www.netscape.com) or Mozilla (www.mozilla.org),
which will run just fine on Win95.

It's probibly a 128 bit encryption problem. I had the same problem
before updating.
The version available at http://on-disk.com/ie55sp2.html has 128 bit
encryption and java. I did a fresh Windows 95 install and installed IE
5.5sp2 from their CD and it works great. I can access my bank online
and even pogo works :)

I got the CD from on disk (http://on-disk.com) and it was exactly what
I was looking for.
All is good again in Daves World.
If your on dialup or your computer crashes a lot this is definately
worth the $3.00
