windows 95 boot problem

my friend deleted Io.sys. now my computer wont even boot
up. it starts to, but then the screen goes black and a
white cursor starts flashing. is there ne way to get it
to boot without re installing the OS? thanks

To replace the real-mode operating system files on drive C

1. Boot the computer using the Windows 95 startup disk.

2. At the command prompt:

   Type SYS C: to copy IO.SYS, MSDOS.SYS,
    DRVSPACE.BIN, and COMMAND.COM
   to the hard drive C. This will rewrite the boot sector.

3. Remove the floppy disk, and restart the computer.
