Help!! Need emergency drivers

This Is what has happened a friend of mine has a Hp
Pavilion 8240 with windows 95.The computer locked up and
the recovery disc will not work at all.He formatted the
hard drive som he could start from scracth, but now the
isn't any drivers for the cd-rom to read the recovery
disc.Does any one out there have any suggestions on what
to do, any information will be greatly appreceiated.

*if* the recovery disk is bootable, all you have to do is set your
bios to boot from cd

if a normal cd support boot floppy is required
you can get one from www.bootdisk.com
