My other computer is having problems right now and I need help.

I bought it with Windows 95 and soon after I upgraded to Windows 98. Then I bought a computer program that would work much better on 95 than 98. So I decided to reinstall windows 95. I encountered a problem on the way though. On startup of windows, it displayed a message saying......

Cannot find a device file that may be needed to run windows or a windows application.

The windows registery or system.ini file refers to this device, but the device no longer exists

If you still want to use the application associated with this device file, try reinstalling that application to replace the missing file.

-----NTKERN.VXD
-----MTRR.VXD
-----UDF.VXD

Please help me, I'm Desperate!

Thankyou,
Foznot

If you are only trying to eliminate these messages, back up the registry on the
problem computer, then copy and paste the following text to Notepad and
save it to a floppy as "a:\repair.reg".  Start the problem computer, insert the
floppy, click "Start", "Run", type "a:\repair.reg" and click "OK".

REGEDIT4
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\NTKern]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\MTRR]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\UDF]
[End]
