Can someone tell me what is the meaning of this error
message? BIOS Read Error 04 on drive 80. I'm running
Windows 95 in a Compaq Presario Desktop which is about 10
years old.

Drive 80 is the first hard disk drive. A BIOS read error means that the
system was using BIOS facilities to read the disk, and the BIOS returned an
error code instead of a success code.  The drive is faulty, or
misconfigured. Get some disk drive diagnostics from the hard disk drive
manuufacturer and use them to pinpoint the problem.
