Get error:
"the spng, exe file is linked to missing export ADVAP.dll:setentries in acia"

Any thoughts on what the problem might be?

Please double check the file names.  I cannot find any references to
files named spng.exe or advap.dll anywhere.

There is a Windows component file named advapi.dll and if that is what
your error message refers to then this probably means that something
has replaced this file on your computer with an earlier version, and
the earlier version does not include the specific component (the
"missing export") that the application spng.exe is looking for.

What is spng.exe?   Use Start - Find and search the hard drive for
this file.  When it is found, right-click on the file name, select
Properties, and go to the version tab.   The information there will
tell you who created the file and which application it belongs to.
Also make note of the location of this file as that information may
also be useful.

And then search for advapi.dll (if that is the correct name) and check
the version number of that file, especially if there is more than one
copy of it on your hard drive.  The most recent (= highest numbered)
version should be the one in your c:\windows\system folder.   If not,
copy it there.  All of the older versions should be renamed to
advapi.old or similar and (eventually) deleted.

Good luck

Thanks for the response.
The file name is ADVAP132.dll - sorry about the typo.
I'll check further on the spng.exe.

That's probably advapi32.dll, but check because I have seen cases where
confusion between i and 1 is deliberately exploited.

Sorry about the mis-information. I was getting this from a friend with poor
eyesight and he misread it.
It should be:
"the SRNG.exe file is linked to missing export ADVAPI32.dll"

Is SRNG.exe a virus??

If it's not a virus, it's probably spyware or adaware, and it's almost
certain that you don't need it. See, for instance:
