I known this may sound C-R-A-Z-Y but I'd like to get Win95c running on the new PC. Found how to get Win98se running (runs GREAT) but
it took a little work.

Regarding Win95, I cannot get to the GUI screen upon install. An error message pops up a\saying it cannot initialize, out of memory
(which it CANNOT be because there is 1gHz mem ... runs Win98se fine!).

Anybody know the trick to get it running on a P4 2.4gHz?
need a new ESDI_506.PDR? (to resolve timing issues)??

Open to suggestions!
Thnx, Vic

Follow the instructions here to download and install the necessary patch for P4 systems:
Errors May Occur When Installing Windows 95 on PCs with Pentium III or
Pentium 4 Processor:
http://www.compaq.com/support/techpubs/customer_advisories/DB010327_CW01_2.html

and for the memory error:
"Out of Memory" Error Messages with Large Amounts of RAM Installed:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=kb;en-us;253912

However, that article refers to Win98...in Win95, you should probably set the vcache setting significantly smaller.  You may want to try a MaxFileCache setting in Win95 of one/fourth the installed RAM, and then possibly work your way downward somewhat if you still have memory errors or an over-large swap files being built.

dear vic
I need to reinstall win 95 C osr 2.5 english on a PC with pentium 90 and 32Mb RAM
I will not support efficiently win98SE
But I have lost the original CD (I still have a valid licence for that PC)
Could you help to get an (original) CD, with an IDE cable for exemple (as hardware item sold with OEM product)
of win 95 C OSR 2.5 english, even with the original key joint
Would you sell yours to me
I will give you address and shipping and you give me price
Thanks

Hmmm ... I'm hanging onto this CD like GOLD! Here's a couple of thoughts of where you might find one. Of course there's eBay; I've
bought Windows CD's from there. Then there are computer 'fests' (shows) where people bring all there wares to sell. It's amazing
what may turn up there!

Good luck!
