The Recycle Bin icon does not appear on my desktop and I
don't know where to look for it to restore it to the
desktop.

I deleted a file by mistake.

Can anyone help?

In TweakUI, on the Desktop tab, make sure the Recycle Bin item is checked.

You can dowload TweakUI ver. 1.33 here: http://aumha.org/freeware.htm

Download a copy of tweakui for win95 and install it.  Run it from the
control panel.  There will be a toggle switch that will allow you to
redisplay the bin.
