I want to upgrade a computer I bought at a sale. It
currently has Windows 95. I have old 98 CD's that I had
with an older computer. It is not upgrade disk through
just disks that say for install of a new computer. Can I
just load it and it will take the Win 95's place or do I
need to do something else first.

That sounds like an OEM disk, which will not want to upgrade an
existing installation. OEM disks are intended for new computers and
want to be installed on a blank disk. You may be able to get around
this, look here: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour/html/upgrade.html

You have to buy a Win98CD. Do yourself a favor and go to Win98SE. Many
peripherals and much software specifies Win98SE as a minimum
requirement. You'll need a Win98SE full retail or upgrade CD. Avoid
OEM disks, since they will not upgrade an existing system.
