Trying to install Windows Socket 2 update on W95.  Receive
an error message - Quicktime is missing software required
to perform operation.  Unfortunately it is not available
on the quicktime server.

Any suggestions?

did you ever get an answer to this?  I've got similar problem.  Win95, older version of IE (5.0.2).  I need to download a newer version but can't because quicktime always hangs with the same error that you have described.  I've been told that it is an IE problem not a quicktime problem and that it will go away if i can install IE 5.5.... but i can't download anything from the update site, hmmmm.... any ideas or luck on your end?

There may be little use replying to a month-old message, as the OP is
unlikely to respond.
Please supply details of your problem and give the exact error
message.
