did you ever get an answer to this? I've got similar problem. Win95, older version of IE (5.0.2). I need to download a newer version but can't because quicktime always hangs with the same error that you have described. I've been told that it is an IE problem not a quicktime problem and that it will go away if i can install IE 5.5.... but i can't download anything from the update site, hmmmm.... any ideas or luck on your end?
There may be little use replying to a month-old message, as the OP is
unlikely to respond.
Please supply details of your problem and give the exact error
message.
