Hello,

I can`t seem to find an answer for this anywhere. I can
send e-mail through Outlook Express but can`t recieve.
It`s been 2 days this time. It`s happened before but only
for an hour or so and then fixed itself. It shows it`s
connected and says recieving mail but then after a bit
comes up saying Pop reciever not responding.
I can get my e-mail directly online at my server site but
this is time consuming due to a slow connection. So my e-
mail is gathering at the server but refuses now to in
Outlook Express.
Please can anyone help?

My e-mail address is lgravill@sympatico.ca if anyone is
kind enough and knows of this solution.

Thank you'

Linda

open a dos prompt window and try to ping your POP server.

look in account settings for connection...

type  "ping pop1.sympatico.ca"  (just a guess at your server)

if no response , call your ISP to see if they have made any changes

Based on this description, I'd guess that your ISP's POP server is not
working very well. You should find out what the correct settings for
the POP3 are, and make sure that they are correct in OE. Once you've
made sure of that, you can start complaining to the ISP.
