I need help urgent...

I have been using Windows ME for along time and yesterday
I installed Windows 95...

However It will not load up because when I try to start
Windows 95 it says 'This version of windows requires MS-
DOS 8.0'

Can anyone help me sort this out? (I need to use my PC)

You didn't try installing it over Windows ME did you? DOS 8.0 is the
version that is included with WinME. You need to format the drive then
install Windows 95.

Interesting...

FALSE.  You need to Sys C: from the appropriate-version Win95 boot
diskette, that's all (have the Sys command file on that diskette).

Specifically, you need:

1)  The hidden etc. C:\IO.SYS found by PBR to be Win95 version
2)  The hidden etc. C:\MSDOS.SYS to point to Win95 installation
3)  No conflicting hidden etc. C:\WINBOOT.INI to be present

That's all - though for bonus points, a correct-version Win95
C:\Command.com is highly recommended   :-)
