In CONTROL PANEL there is a NETWORKING icon and if I don't use it to other computers should there be anything in it or it also used to connect to to my ISP. I now have an icon for MAKE NEW CONNECTION--DALECAIN & MSN EXPLORER in there.  Can I delete them without a problem??   The reason is when I try to do a backup it gets part way and says somthing about a net working modem and will not complete.
THANKS

Yes, you need networking to get on the Internet.

Yes, you can delete the shortcuts for make new connection and
MSN.

Before you backup,  do a ctrl-alt-del and end the unneccessary
programs.  (Only Explorer and Systray are needed for Windows).
