multiple start up problems

When I start up computer I recieve 2 missing DLL messages,
a missing DLL library message, then a message saying the
program has performed an illegal operation and is being
shut down, all before opening any programs. Is there an
upgrade/download that will help? or should I trash 95 and
upgrade to 98?

You have to tell us what the .dll files are that are missing.
Please supply the error messages verbatim.
