how to free up space ...

i own a n old computer...it has 64 of memory and i need to
install Ao 7.o version.but the install works up until 99%
and then the error mesage pops u.i was told by AOL tech
support that i eeed to free u some space.....there is 83%
info loaded..and it needs to be reduced to 72%...How can I
manage to free up some space in order to successfully
install my AOL 7.0 disk on my pc?? would appreciate some
instruction and/or advie.  Will i need to rformat at all?

What space are you referring to - where exactly are you seeing this 83% and
72% information?

Assuming you're talking about hard drive space, try this:

Edit your autoexec.bat command so that you have the following sequence of
commands:

@echo off
cls
set temp=c:\windows\temp
set tmp=c:\windows\temp
deltree /y c:\temp
deltree /y c:\windows\temp
deltree /y c:\windows\tempor~1

Reboot, and let the computer sit for about an hour, as it will take some
time to clean up.  Scandisk and defrag afterwards.  Then, you'll want to
remark out line 6 (and maybe line 7, depending on what you want your browser
to do about caching) so that it/they don't run all the time.

Then do a search on your hard drive and delete the following:

*.old
*.bak
*.temp
readme*.*
*.me
shelliconcache
