I get many different error messages (ie: just trying
to get into Microsoft tonight I got the script error
Line  87 Char 5  Object expected.  Often I get the
Internet Explorer window saying web page inaccessable
Trying again does nothing more.  This occurs with both
secure and unsecured sites.  Any help would be appreciated

For the script errors, try this:
Click Start>Settings> Control Panel> Internet Options> Advanced tab:
Check the box for "Disable script debugging"
Un-check the box for "Display a notification about every script error"
Click OK.
